Who we are

We are the Christian Au Pair Agency (CAPA), accessible from http://christianaupair.net. At CAPA, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by CAPA and how we use it.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Application forms

If you should choose to provide us with personal information through filling in and submitting the au pair or host family application forms through our website, we will use that information to decide whether or not you are entitled to become an au pair or host family in the chosen country. We will also use the information to match you personal data and preferences with any of our au pair/host family candidates. Parts of the information submitted in the forms will be sent to our candidates. The included parts are clearly stated in the application form. We do not collect personal information in our application form for distribution to third party (other than our cooperation agencies in some cases). If you should opt-in to our newsletter we will store your contact information for commercial marketing purposes.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, since location data from such images can be downloaded and extracted.

Contact form

If you should choose to provide us with personal information – as in an e-mail or by filling out a form and submitting it to us through the Site – we will use that information to respond to your message and to help us get the information you have requested. We do not collect personal information in our contact form for distribution to third party. If you should opt-in to our newsletter we will store your contact information for commercial marketing purposes.

Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Who we share your data with

Cooperation partner agencies

In some rare cases we might send your personal information to our cooperation partners. In that case we will contact you beforehand and ask for your permission.

Embedded content from other websites

This website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google reCAPTCHA

To protect against the misuse of our web forms and spam, we use the Google reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google) within the scope of some forms on this website. This plugin checks if you are a person in order to prevent certain website functions from being used by spam bots. This plugin query includes the sending of the IP address and possibly other data required by Google for the Google reCAPTCHA service. For this purpose your input will be communicated to and used by Google.

However, your IP address is previously truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the agreement on the European Economic Area and is, as such, anonymized. Only in exceptional cases is a full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of this service. The IP address provided by reCaptcha from your browser shall not be merged with any other data from Google.

Google is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current copy of the certificate can be viewed here. As a result of this agreement between the US and the European Commission, the latter has established an adequate level of data protection for companies certified under the Privacy Shield.

You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by JavaScript or the cookie, as well as data relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by preventing the execution of JavaScript or the setting of cookies in your browser settings. By doing this, you also prevent processing of abovementioned data. Please note that this may limit the functionality of our website for your use.

By using the reCAPTCHA service, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Payments with PayPal

If you choose the payment option with PayPal, we will transmit the data for contract processing (legal basis is art. 6 par. 1 lit. b DSGVO) to PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg). Spam detection service

Contact and application form entries may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Mailchimp

We use a third-party email service, MailChimp, to manage our regular email communications to members and MailChimp act as a data-processor on behalf of LIBS.

MailChimp is a US company and has staff based outside the EEA, and stores your data in the US. MailChimp is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework. When you sign up to our email alerts, you agree to your data being stored in this way.

As a subscriber to our newsletter, we may contact you from time to time to ask for your feedback on how to improve our email alert service.

As a data processor on behalf of LIBS, MailChimp will use your information to send you email alerts if you request them. You can find out more about how MailChimp collects and stores your information.

Links to third-party websites

Our Website may contain links to other websites which are outside our control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy (“third-party websites”). If you access third-party websites using the links provided, the operators of such sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their own privacy policies, which may differ from ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those Third-Party Websites so that you understand if/how they collect and/or use information from you or your computer.

How long we retain your data

For users that apply at our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their application. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Christian Au Pair Agency will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have contacted us via contact form or email, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

Personal data shall be subject to additional safeguards to ensure this data is processed securely. For example, we work hard to ensure data will be strictly limited to a minimum number of individuals and subject to confidentiality commitments.

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

What data breach procedures we have in place

This website receives no data from external third parties.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We use automated decision making and profiling partly when deciding whether or not the applicants are entitled to become au pairs/host families, but also in our matching process.
